My Experience
For six years, I have been travelling the world with a camera in hand, capturing everything from bustling cities to remote landscapes and quiet encounters. My photography focuses on authenticity, light, composition and the art of timing.
My Gear
To ensure maximum image quality and flexibility, I shoot with the Sony A7 IV and premium Sony G Master lenses, such as the 24–70mm f/2.8, 12–24mm f/2.8 and 70–200mm f/2.8. This allows me to capture everything from wide landscapes to tight portraits. For long days on the move, I always carry a lightweight tripod and a compact backpack setup.
Quick Tips for Aspiring Travel Photographers
Do your research, but keep an open mind. While great preparation is essential (considering factors such as light, timing, location and local customs), it is often the spontaneous moments that yield the strongest images. Master low light. Early mornings and twilight offer magical light. Find your voice. Don’t copy trends. Build your own visual identity through color, subject matter, and perspective. Travel light. A couple of top-tier lenses will take you further than a heavy bag full of compromises. Backup everything. Always carry extra SD cards and a rugged external SSD. Respect your subjects. A genuine smile opens more doors than a long lens.
What Not to Underestimate in Travel Photography
Light and weather change fast – flexibility is key. Cultural awareness is as important as technical skill. Insurance with full gear coverage is a must-have.
